Qualifications Required

Education:
University degree in Social Science or Public Relations is required.
Prior Work Experience:
At least two years of experience in event planning and management or travel and tourism fields, with an emphasis on group travel, and large scale event planning.
Language:
Levels 4 (fluent) in English and Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Kiswahili (speaking, writing and reading) is required
Knowledge:
Incumbent must have an in-depth knowledge of the host country and region -- to include the local history, culture, religions, and customs.
A strong understanding or experience in travel and event planning are required.
Skills and Abilities:
S/he must be able to communicate effectively and efficient with employees from all segments of the mission.
The position requires daily contact with all levels of employees. S/he must be able to negotiate, problems solve, and trouble shoots often under time/pressure constraints.
A computer skill is required.
