Job Description


The Salvation Army is an integral part of the universal Christian Church, founded in 1865 with headquarters in London. It is one of the oldest international faith based organizations in the world.
In 1935, The Salvation Army started its mission in Tanzania and now serves in over 120 communities in  Tanzania through Salvation Army Corps (churches) and institutions.
The Salvation Army Tanzania Territory is partnering with World Education International (WEI) to implement Pamoja Tuwalee program in Siha District – Kilimanjaro region, funded by USAID.
The program focuses on three (3) main Strategic Objectives;
Increase access and utilization of comprehensive Most Vulnerable Children (MVC) services through community initiatives.
Strengthen human and organizational capacity of community local structures to meet the needs of MVC.
Improve advocacy for social protection of MVC.
Our organization is seeking to recruit a strong and dynamic pool of program staff in Kilimanjaro regionSiha District to coordinate and enhance community based sustainable care and support services forMVC
Roles and Responsibilities:
As per TSA Organization Management Structure, He or She will report to the Program Manager. She will coordinate MVC program activities at the field level, providing a consistent technical support to the community based implementation teams, supporting community initiatives established to provide a sustainable care and support for MVC, managing day-to-day activities of the program at the community level, organizing network and partnership meetings.
A prominent candidate for this position will have:
A university degree level of education or its equivalent in the field of social sciences
A previous training on Psychosocial Support (PSS) is highly recommended
Proven experience in project management and planning, work plans preparation, documentation, reports writing, financial controlling and management.
Required familiarity with USAIDSIDARFE and CIDA program management regulations.
Strong community facilitation skills, community capacity building and management of community care kids clubs as core PSS program components are highly preferred.
Strong computer skills and fluency in English and Swahili
Team work spirit and adherence to TSA Ethos are highly preferred.
