Job Description


Site Manager, Tanzania area
Responsibilities (include but not limited):
· Manage the onsite staff compliment of expats and local employees.
· Building and maintaining the customer relationship with Anglo Gold Ashanti.
· Financial and operational performance in accordance with the contract.
· Management of manpower in accordance with the contract.
· Ensuring strict adherence to health & safety.
· Ensuring strict adherence to company policies and procedures.
· Ensuring strict adherence to all legislation relating to Tanzania.
· Ensuring strict adherence to company internal controls.
· Day to day operational issues.
· Customer negotiating.
· Site performance in relation with budget and targets.
· Development and training of staff.
· Liaising with OEM for technical related issues.
· Weekly meetings with GGM management.
· Supplier meetings with GGM management.
· Manage and control all company assets, small tools and vehicles.
· Management of staff working rosters and leave rosters.
· Manage preventative maintenance of onsite equipment as per OEM standards.
· Planning and management of scheduled maintenance and daily breakdowns.
· Achieving required machine availabilities of 85% (minimum requirement).
· Document and minute all meetings with the client.
Key Performance Indicators (include but not limited):
· Onsite relationship with Anglo Gold Ashanti.
· Achieving KPI’s as per contract with Anglo Gold Ashanti.
· Achieving required machine availabilities of 85% (minimum requirement).
· Financial performance and profitability of contract.
· Management of account with Anglo Gold Ashanti and debtors days < 60 days.
· Adherence to all policies and procedures set out above.
· Development and training of staff.
· Record keeping.
· Planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance.
· Site management and performance in accordance to customer expectations.
· Relationship with and management of staff.
Reporting requirements (include but not limited):
· Weekly Machine availabilities.
· KPI’s as per contract with Anglo Gold Ashanti.
· Minutes of all meetings held with GGM.
· Incidents as and when required.
· Required site reporting as per instruction of Key Operations Manager.
· Ensure that machine history files are updated on a regular basis.

Qualifications – Minimum Requirements
· 10 years experience within the mining industry in a Managerial Operations role.
· First hand exposure and knowledge of mining and heavy earthmoving equipment.
· A business management diploma / degree in Mining/ Engineering
· Proficiency with Ms Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
